Aligned with rigorous educational standards, Really Great Reading’s evidence-based literacy solutions have earned ESSA Level II, III, and IV certifications, showcasing our proven impact on reading proficiency. RGR’s programs equip teachers with effective tools and strategies that significantly and directly enhance student literacy development.
During the 2022-2023 school year, a third-party research group conducted two studies to evaluate the impact of Really Great Reading’s (RGR) instructional programs on literacy outcomes among elementary students in two public school districts. These studies examined the effectiveness of RGR’s approach in promoting reading growth across different grade levels, reinforcing its alignment with ESSA Evidence Level III standards.
In a recent evaluation, a third-party research group developed a comprehensive logic model to analyze the structure and effectiveness of Really Great Reading’s instructional programs. A logic model serves as a strategic framework, outlining participant engagement, program activities, outputs, and anticipated outcomes, thereby providing a road map for program implementation. This study examined how RGR’s methods support teacher knowledge, instructional practices, and student literacy outcomes, aligning with ESSA Evidence Level IV standards.
A high-poverty Maryland elementary school, historically ranking in the bottom 30% for literacy, achieved extraordinary results with Really Great Reading’s Blast 1st Grade Reading Program. By the end of the school year, the percentage of first graders reading at or above benchmark rose from 11% to 67%. The success underscores the effectiveness of RGR’s targeted programs in addressing foundational reading challenges.
In just five weeks, struggling seventh graders in Jackson turned their reading challenges into triumphs. Through intensive interventions using HD Word, reading accuracy soared 61%, from 31% to 92%. This rapid progress highlights the power of RGR’s tools to deliver measurable results in a short timeframe.
