ESSA Certifications Headline: ESSA II Certified!
A third-party research group conducted two comprehensive studies during the 2022-2023 school year to assess the impact of Really Great Reading’s instruction on literacy outcomes in urban and large public schools. The studies focused on evaluating the effectiveness of RGR’s programs in improving reading skills across different elementary grade levels, with findings supporting ESSA Evidence Level II certification.
In grades 1 through 3, students who received instruction through Really Great Reading programs demonstrated significantly higher mid-year reading scores compared to those who did not use RGR, highlighting the program’s effectiveness in enhancing early reading proficiency.
Kindergarten students receiving Really Great Reading instruction achieved notably higher end-of-year composite reading scores and letter naming fluency and nonsense word fluency scores than their peers who were not enrolled in RGR programs. These findings underscore the positive impact of RGR instruction on foundational literacy skills in the earliest stages of reading development.
